A chain of office is a type of full-dress regalia that is worn around the neck and over the shoulders. The chain is typically made-up of a series of term bars, each of which are engraved with an office-holder's name and term of office. A pendant drapes from the centre-front of a chain of office. A pendant usually features an organisation's logo or shield, with or without decoration. A chain of office may also include ornamental components such as a monogram, a title bar or other pieces.
